New Plot Synopsis for Disney's Tomorrowland - Nouveau Plot de Synopsis pour Disney Tomorrowland

Disney has now officially announced the start of production (they tend to wait a few weeks just to be safe) and while most of what’s in the release is well-known (the cast, the crew, etc.) there’s also the first official plot synopsis of the film. Though merely one sentence, it confirms long-rumored plot descriptions while also pushing focus away from the literal mystery box we saw at the D23 Expo.

Here’s the official press release for the start of Tomorrowland. The plot description is bolded.:

Tomorrowland will star George Clooney, Hugh Laurie, Britt Robertson and Raffey Cassidy and is directed, produced and co-written by Brad Bird (The Incredibles, Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol). Jeff Jensen and Damon Lindelof  also co-wrote the screenplay based upon a story created by the three.

Tomorrowland is due to be released 12th December, 2014 in the US, and 26th in the UK.

Ce week-end, le site HitFix a affirmé avoir mis la main sur un synopsis de Tomorrowland, utilisé par la production afin d’orienter leurs choix de casting. "Une adolescente, un génie d’âge moyen (qui a été exilé de Tomorrowland) et un robot doté de la personnalité d’une fille prépubère [sic] essaient d’atteindre Tomorrowland, qui se situe dans une dimension parallèle, et de découvrir ce qui s’y trame afin de sauver la Terre." Le film s’ouvrirait sur un prologue où le héros Frank Walker (Clooney, probablement) découvre un passage vers le monde de Tomorrowland pendant un congrès scientifique en 1964, mais le méchant David Nix (Laurie) le chasse de ce paradis artificiel. Des années plus tard, Walker retournera donc à Tomorrowland affronter Nix… Conclusion : plutôt qu’un biopic de Disney, Tomorrowland pourrait bien être un film de science-fiction vintage dans le style de Flash Gordon, avec des robots, des voyages interdimensionnels et un esprit spielbergien période Amblin dans l’univers rétrofuturiste rêvé par l’oncle Walt. Tout se tient, donc ? Le film doit sortir aux Etats-Unis le 19 décembre 2014. D’ici là, beaucoup de révélations peuvent encore arriver…
