Disney Animation Confirms ‘Moana’ for 2016 + Official Synopsis and First Look

Walt Disney Animation Studios just announced their 56th animated feature film, Moana! Renowned filmmakers Ron Clements & John Musker (The Little Mermaid, Aladdin) will direct the CG-animated comedy-adventure, coming to theatres late 2016.

Why everyone is going crazy over Moana, the next disney princess?

Moana, Disney's upcoming feature set 2,000 years ago in the South Pacific, doesn't come out until 2018, but that hasn't stopped fan artists from sketching up their own visions of the film's seafaring princess.

Only one piece of Moana concept art has been seen online so far, but it was quickly pulled by Disney on the grounds that it wasn’t an official release. Still, that was all fans needed to inspire their own Moana fanworks.

Disney Animation Studios Sets MOANA for 2018

The Walt Disney Animation Studios has released some new info on its upcoming 2018 feature, a Polynesia-set epic directed by veterans John Musker and Ron Clements (The Princess and the Frog, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin). The pic, which is titled Moana, will feature music by Mark Mancina and is described a “mythic adventure set around 2000 years ago and across a series of islands in the South Pacific.”
