 ABC has released some new photos of Georgina Haig as Frozen's Elsa the snow queen as well as Scott Michael Foster as Kristoff.

Frozen took home the Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song Oscars Sunday night.

Frozen won the song category for “Let It Go,” with the winner announced just after the song was performed to a standing ovation by Idina Menzel.

Comments made by Chris Buck, Jennifer Lee and Peter Del Vecho in accepting the Oscar for Frozen:

“Lee: We’re gonna do this together because we’re collaborative, but we’ll be fast. Del Vecho: First, we want to thank each and every person at Walt Disney Animation Studios, our family. We are so proud of you for making the film as magical as it is. And we’re bringing this home to you. Lee: And for our personal families and dearest friends, thank you so much for supporting us through this hard work. And for really being our inspiration. Academy To Screen Nominated Animated Shorts; Panel on Animated Features

Leading up to The Oscars, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is presenting several public events celebrating this year’s animated nominees.  On Tuesday February 25th, actor Kevin Pollak will host screening and panel (with live action and animation directors) of the Oscar nominated shorts. Later that week, on Friday February 28th, actor John C. Reilly will host a panel devoted to the Best Animated Feature nominees.

Events will take place at the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills. Here are more details:

Tuesday, February 25, 7:30 p.m.
Hosted by actor Kevin Pollak.  Pollak's film credits include The Whole 10 Yards, 3000 Miles to Graceland, The Usual Suspects, and Casino.

Box Office Report: Disney’s ‘Frozen’ Crosses $800 Million

Disney's blockbuster Frozen continued to make headlines in its 10th week as it crossed the $800 million mark globally, becoming the number two original animated film of all time after Finding Nemo. Frozen came in fourth place in North America with $9 million for a domestic total of $347.8 million. Overseas, Frozen earned another $20.2 million for a foreign total of $462.5 million and a worldwide tally of $810.3 million.

With Oscar nominations for Best Song  under its belt, adding to the worldwide phenomenon that it’s already become, Walt Disney Studios has released the full ‘Let It Go’ sequence from Disney’s Frozen in twenty-five different languages. Presented in order, the languages are: English, French, German, Dutch, Mandarin, Swedish, Japanese, Latin American Spanish, Polish, Hungarian, Castilian Spanish, Catalan, Italian, Korean, Serbian, Cantonese, Portuguese, Bahasa Malaysia, Russian, Danish, Bulgarian, Norwegian, Thai, Canadian French and Flemish.

            

86th Oscars Nominations Announced

The Oscar nominations were announced this morning and five nominees for Best Animated Feature were:

• The Croods Chris Sanders, Kirk DeMicco and Kristine Belson (Dreamworks/Fox)
• Despicable Me 2 Chris Renaud, Pierre Coffin and Chris Meledandri (Illumination/Universal)
• Ernest & Celestine Benjamin Renner and Didier Brunner (Les Amateurs/GKids)
• Frozen Chris Buck, Jennifer Lee and Peter Del Vecho (Disney)
• The Wind Rises Hayao Miyazaki and Toshio Suzuki (Studio Ghibli)

"Happy" from Despicable Me 2 and "Let It Go" from Frozen were nominated for Best Song.

"Frozen" Wins Golden Globe Award, Best Animated Film

Disney's Frozen won the Golden Globe for Best Animated Feature at tonight's Golden Globes ceremony in Hollywood.

This award positions the Disney musical as the front runner for the Oscar. However, it remains to be seen what nominees the Academy put forth (The Globes only considered Miyazaki's The Wind Rises for Best Foreign film - it didn't win).

A Saturday surge carried Disney’s family movie “Frozen” to No. 1 at the U.S. box office this weekend, ending the two-week reign of “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.”

Book Review: The Art of Frozen

The Design of all the characters is just perfect and there is a lot of details in this 3D Animation : The Costumes, The hairstyles, The kingdom of Arendelle, The Elsa's Icy palace...I can say Disney did a great and brillant work !

 Anna
(voice of Kristen Bell) is  the most optimistic and caring person you'll ever meet. She longs to reconnect with her sister, Elsa, as they were close during their childhood. When Elsa accidentally unleashes a magical secret that locks the kingdom of Arendelle in an eternal winter, Anna embarks on a dangerous adventure to make things right.

Elsa
From the outside, Elsa (voice of Idina Menzel) looks poised and reserved, but in reality, she lives in fear as she wrestles with a mighty secret—she was born with the power to create ice and snow.  Haunted by the moment her magic nearly killed her younger sister Anna, Elsa has isolated herself. Her mounting emotions trigger the magic, accidentally setting off an eternal  winter that she can't stop. She fears she's becoming a monster and that no one, not even her sister, can help her.

Hans
When he appears during the coronation sequence, Hans embodies courtly charm. His polished looks and manners immediately win Anna’s attention. “Hans is this handsome, dashing character: You want the audience to fall in love with him and the relationship he could have with Anna,” says supervising animator Hyrum Osmond. “Then we’ve got to turn him around toward the end and make it a huge surprise. The crew is having fun with the contrasts between the character’s two personalities.” 
After they screened the film, a lot of the animators said, “I want to animate Hans,” Di Salvo chuckles, “He beings as the knight in shining armor, and the audience thinks, ‘Anna’s going to end up with this guy. He’s perfect.’ But he’s a chameleon who adapts to any environment to make the other characters comfortable. Then you have that awesome emotional turn at the end.”
 

Kristoff
Kristoff (voice of Jonathan Groff) is a true outdoorsman. He lives high up in the mountains where he harvests ice and sells it to the kingdom of Arendelle. Rough around the edges, Kristoff's the strong, no-nonsense type, who follows his own set of rules. He may seem like a loner, but he always has his best friend by his side—a loyal and extremely mangy reindeer named Sven.
 

 Sven
A reindeer with the heart of a Labrador, Sven is Kristoff's loyal friend, sleigh-puller and conscience. He makes sure his mountain-man companion is the stand-up guy Sven knows and loves, and does so without saying a word. 
 

Olaf 
He is Olaf and he likes warm hugs. Sprung from Elsa's magical powers, Olaf is by far the friendliest snowman to walk the mountains above Arendelle. His  outgoing personality and uncanny ability to disassemble himself at good and not-so-good times lead to some awkward, albeit laughable moments. He may also have the world's most impossible dream: 'Summer'...

Trolls
These ancient creatures might be found in the Valley of the Living Rock, but only if they want to be found. Trolls are masters of minerals and yielders of the night sky. They are also overbearing, loud, meddlesome, innappropriate and heavy—really heavy. But they mean well and love well.

 Marshmallow
is an enormous icy snowman born from Elsa's powers. He serves as a brute bodyguard charged with keeping intruders away from her ice palace. The menacing white beast doesn't say much, but he packs a powerful punch.
